We’ve officially reached the 1-year milestone of our TÜBİTAK-supported project, “YouTube Comment Analysis: New Approaches in Music & Destination Marketing.” Over the past year, we collected millions of YouTube comments and applied advanced AI methods — including BERTopic, RoBERTa, logistic regression, and emoji-based emotion analysis — to uncover early insights into nostalgia, global identity, and travel curiosity.
We chose the song Despacito to start with because it serves as a powerful example of how music videos can promote destinations. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Puerto Rico, the video highlights local culture, scenic streets, and lively energy, effectively showcasing the destination’s appeal. strategies.
